She had devoted her life to the fight against leprosy in this country for over 55 years. She was awarded Hilal-i-Pakistan, Hilal-i-Imtiaz, Nishan-e-Quaid-i-Azam, and Sitara-e-Quaid-i-Azam. All these endeavors resulted in the establishment of 157 leprosy clinics throughout Pakistan. She helped more than 56,780 patients. 

Karachi has a medical college and hospital that represents her name after her death. These are Fazaia Ruth Pfau Medical College and Dr. Ruth Pfau Hospital. Though a Catholic, she won the respect of Muslims in Pakistan and the majority of patients at Marie Adelaide Leprosy Centre. In her behavior, she promoted interreligious understanding although not speaking about religion. Ruth Pfau passed away in August 2017 in Karachi. She received full state honors when she was buried.

6- Ansar Burney (Ansar Burney Trust International)

Ansar Burni is a reputable lawyer and a noble social worker. He pursued a B.A., M.A., and LLB from Karachi University. He attained a degree in Philosophy from Sri Lanka as well. He founded the ‘Ansar Burney Welfare Trust International’ in 1980. He also works for people like other social workers who merely engage themselves in management such as finances.
